Unity Care NW is dedicated to helping our community access and sign up for Washington state health insurance coverage and learn about other options for accessing affordable care. Our enrollment services are free and unbiased. Our Enrollment Specialists have been trained and certified as In-Person Assistors by Washington State’s Health Benefit Exchange and are available to:
You can sign up for Washington state health insurance or change your health insurance for 2023 beginning November 1, 2022.
Outside of the Open or Special Enrollment periods, you may be eligible to apply for coverage if your family is very low-income or your family has recently experienced a life event, such as becoming unemployed, having a baby, or getting married. Enrollment in Apple Health (Medicaid) remains open throughout the year, based on eligibility. From January 1 – March 31 each year, if you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you can switch to a different Medicare Advantage Plan or switch to Original Medicare (and join a separate Medicare drug plan) once during this time.

During the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage will not be terminated regardless of any changes of circumstances (i.e. income). Learn more.
The Alien Emergency Medical Program provides COVID-19 medical coverage to people
who do not meet citizenship or immigration status requirements. For more information about this program, click here.
Medical treatment and services related to COVID-19 will not be considered for “Public Charge” purposes.

UCNW will bill any insurance plan, but if your insurance does not pay, then you are responsible financially for the costs associated with the services rendered. Please contact your insurance plan when you sign up for Washington state health insurance to ensure that they are in network for services at Unity Care Northwest.

To ensure that you have access to affordable care regardless of ability to pay, we also offer a Sliding Fee Discount Program that discounts charges for those who are eligible based on household size and income.
To apply for the Sliding Fee Discount Program, contact our Outreach and Enrollment staff at (360) 788-2669 or enrollment@ucnw.org. You will be asked to complete a Sliding Fee Discount Program Application and provide current proof of household income. If you have no income, you may fill out a Self Attestation of No Income form.
